The Hunter And His Prey
The Hunter And His Prey

He couldn't remember when he had ever felt so aroused the feeling was heady as if he'd partaken of to much fine wine. He took a deep breath fighting for composure.
This would be his best yet, he watched as the woman made her way to the checkout counter. Grabbing some random items he stepped into line behind her, careful not to show his interest, yet close enough to smell her. He inhaled the rich scent of the floral scented shampoo in her hair, the color a striking red auburn had been what drew him to her, he was partial to redheads.
From the corner of his eye he watched her as she paid for her groceries then headed for the exit. Slapping down a ten dollar bill to pay for his, he forced himself to smile at the cashier and wait for his change. Within seconds he was out the door and scoping the parking lot. He spotted her standing at the crosswalk.
Not that he needed to, since he knew where she lived, but he wanted to enjoy every moment and that meant watching her walk along unaware that she was in his sights. He quickly closed the distance between them but not to close. He fell into step behind her and allowed himself to enjoy the sensual sway of her hips as she walked along.
She should know better than to go traipsing around the streets after dark, who knew what danger lurked in dark alleys, or walking just behind her. He smiled at his own wit. Her building was just up ahead and he slowed down. She fumbled about in her jacket pocket and produced a key as she made her way up the steps. His anticipation grew, his arousal painfully evident and he was grateful for the jacket concealing the bulge in his jeans.
He stood watching her as she tried to juggle the bag in one hand and fit the key into the lock at the same time. "Need some help with that?" He offered. She turned startled and dropped the bag, but he was up the stairs in a flash and caught it just before it hit the ground. "Oh thank you," she breathed a sigh of relief. "You're my hero and you just saved my eggs." "Let me help you, I'll hold this while you open the door." She smiled and he felt a definite stirring in his loins.
This close to the finish line he had to stay cool. "You know I'm just on the fifth floor myself, it's no bother to show you to your door, got to protect those eggs ya know." She laughed and he followed her inside. I think I've seen you in the elevator a couple times she tossed out the feeler pretty sure he was the new guy in five eighteen, though she was at work the day the new tenants moved in. "That's me," he smiled and she noticed he had dimples. They rode up in the elevator together.
He leaned against the wall trying to act nonchalant. "So, you must really be low on food to go out at this hour." "No not really I worked late tonight and I just know that's probably gonna happen again tomorrow, so down to two eggs, I figured better safe than sorry. Besides I had a wicked craving for a snickers." "Mmm snickers." He snuck a peek inside her bag. "That's the real reason admit it?" "Okay you caught me."
She looked up at him feigning guilt. "Now of course, I have enough ammo to fight for leverage." "Leverage?" She asked. "Yup, here's where I say we should have dinner and you say I would love too. It seems a small price to pay for saving your eggs and not eating your snickers!" "Oohh the old kidnap your candy bar so you'll have dinner with me trick huh?' She grabbed for her bag, but he held it just out of her reach and the impetus brought her up against him. The spark was instantaneous...............
